Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you use the free FixBrokenApp scanner or hire us to fix, harden, or ship your app.

Last updated July 28, 2026
On this page
Plain-English summary: the free scanner is an automated best-effort tool, not a guarantee your app is secure. Paid work (Diagnosis, Rescue, Launch) is done at a fixed price we agree with you before we start. You keep full ownership of your code, always.

    Agreement to these terms

By using the FixBrokenApp website, submitting a project for a free scan, or engaging us for paid work, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

    What we offer

We offer three tiers of service, agreed and priced individually in chat before any paid work begins:

    • Diagnosis ($49, flat) — a full code health report: critical issue identification, a security vulnerability scan, and a private report link, typically delivered within 24 hours.
    • Rescue (from $149) — critical bug fixes, production refactoring, and closing security holes found during diagnosis, tested end-to-end, typically delivered in 48–72 hours.
    • Launch (from $399) — full deployment to production: domain and DNS configuration, authentication and payments wired correctly, one week of critical-issue support after handover, and a plain-English walkthrough of what was done.

The Diagnosis fee is fully credited toward a Rescue if you continue with us. Turnaround times above are typical, not guaranteed — unusually large or complex projects are scoped and quoted individually before we start, and we'll tell you upfront if a job doesn't fit the usual timeline.

The free scanner — what it does and doesn't do

Our automated scanner checks your code for common issues seen in AI-generated apps: hardcoded secrets, insecure defaults (like open CORS or disabled TLS verification), missing input validation, unprotected API routes, and similar patterns. It is a genuinely useful first pass, but:

    • It is not a substitute for a full professional security audit or penetration test.
    • It cannot catch every possible bug or vulnerability — it looks for known patterns, not every conceivable issue.
    • A high score does not guarantee your app is bug-free or fully secure; it means our automated checks didn't find anything on this list.
    • Fix suggestions ("fix hints") are only shown on reports linked to paid work — free reports show what's wrong, not the specific fix, by design.

    What we need from you

    • You must own the code you submit, or have the right to have it reviewed by a third party. Don't submit someone else's private code without permission.
    • GitHub repositories submitted for scanning must be public — see our guide on making a repo public if you need help with that.
    • Uploads must be genuine project files (as a .zip archive) — please don't try to submit malicious payloads, deliberately malformed archives, or anything designed to abuse or disrupt the scanning service. We monitor for this and reserve the right to block abusive use.
    • For paid work, please respond to our questions in a reasonably timely manner — delays on your end can affect delivery timelines.

    Payment

    • Paid work is priced as a fixed amount agreed with you in chat before work begins — no surprise fees added afterward for the agreed scope.
    • Changes to scope after work has started (new requirements not part of the original agreement) may be quoted separately.
    • Accepted payment methods are communicated during the WhatsApp/email conversation when you engage us.

    Refunds

    • If you cancel before we've started work on your project, you'll receive a full refund.
    • Once work has started, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis reflecting the work already completed — contact us and we'll talk it through in good faith.
    • The Diagnosis fee is non-refundable once the report has been delivered, since the work (the scan and report) has been completed at that point — but as noted above, it's fully credited if you continue to a Rescue.

    Ownership of your code

You retain full ownership of your code and your application, before, during, and after we work on it. We claim no ownership or license over your project beyond what's needed to actually do the work you've hired us for. Any code we write for you as part of paid work becomes yours upon full payment.

No guarantee of fitness for a particular purpose

We fix what we identify and agree to fix. We can't guarantee your application will be suitable for every possible use case, will pass every compliance requirement your business may be subject to, or will be free of issues that emerge after our work is delivered (for example, from new dependencies, new features you add later, or vulnerabilities discovered after delivery). We recommend ongoing maintenance and periodic re-scanning for any production application.

    Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FixBrokenApp is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the free scanner or paid services, including but not limited to lost profits or lost data. We strongly recommend you maintain your own backups of your code and data independent of any work we do — we are not a backup service.

    Acceptable use

    You agree not to:

    • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, upload validation, or the security protections built into the scanner (including attempts to make it fetch internal/private network addresses).
    • Use the service to scan code you don't have permission to review.
    • Attempt to access another user's private report without authorization.
    • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

    Termination

We may suspend or refuse service to anyone found abusing the platform (as described in "Acceptable use") without prior notice. You may stop using the free scanner or decline further paid work at any time.

    Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

    Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which FixBrokenApp operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
